I'm so happy to say that on December 16th we welcomed to the world our sweet baby girl, Frances Diane! I was 8 days past my due date and it had been an incredibly tiring week, but I was so fortunate to have an incredibly quick labor and delivery, and we were able to have our first experience with a home birth and it went wonderfully! (And I was able to have my best pal, Sarah, there to help and take these amazing birth photos!)
Henry and Sally have been doing so well with all of the change and are so in love with their baby sister! Henry was only one when Sally was born and could have cared less about babies, so we were really anxious to see how he did this time around. He's been so loving and sweet with holding her and sneaking in little kisses on her head. And Sally is just over-the-moon about being a big sister. The first couple of nights she would wander in our room whenever Frances was crying and ask if "her baby sister was okay" and would start singing the abc's to her. It's seriously heart-melting how much she cares for Frances.
Overall everything has been going so well. There's plenty of adjustments, insane amounts of laundry, Christmas after-math, and sleepless nights, but c'est la vie, right? We have the sweetest little family, and I can't even share how many times a day I am just amazed that I get to be the mom to three beautiful, healthy kids!
Onto a few more pictures, but in the meantime, I'll say it again and again--thank you all so much for being so patient with emails and photos
I'm a Grand Rapids based photographer, still amazed that I get to do what I love on a daily basis. I feel so alive when I'm shooting—It's something that's just in me—and I have loved having the opportunity to share peoples' stories through photos. I have three beautiful children, Henry, Sally, and Frances, with my husband Patrick. We get to do life together, and when get some extra time, we all love to head down to Chicago and explore together. Our life is simple, but built around each other, hoping to show our kids that we can make a difference and impact lives by doing what we love.
