If we're going to your home, address with city and zip, please!
Please tell me a little bit about your family as a whole. In addition to the standard information, please share with me something interesting and specific. What are your favorite things to do together as a family? What does a typical Sunday morning look like at your house (doesn’t have to be Sunday, or morning, but you get the idea)?
Please tell me a little something about each individual family member.
One of my favorite things to photograph is children interacting with their parents – when they forget I’m there and just “be” in their safest place. I like to think about how children will look at these photographs as adults and see how much they loved and were loved. What would you like to see reflected in these photos that your child will hold in their hands as adults?
At this point we should have already established that the “perfect” session is going to be more imperfect than not. The “Christmas card” shot for me should include big laughs or other natural expression:, a candid moment. I want to capture YOU as you are, not perfectly poised, posed, and positioned for the camera. What about you? Is there anything else that I need to know about your vision for our session?
I want you to enjoy our time together, if you can think of anything that will have you lying awake nervous the night before our session, please share that with me so I can help alleviate some of your stress.
There is one more thing I need to know – if you have any opposition to black and white images this is a good time to tell me; please don’t wait until I have edited all of your photos! Normally I edit your photos in a mix of color and black and white, at my discretion, depending on how the image speaks to me (yes, I really did just say that). Sometimes you will get a photo in both b/w and color, but more frequently it is one or the other. I am open to your requesting one or two photos be offered in the alternate (a color as b/w instead, or the other way around) if I think it looks good that way. However, I am not open to re-editing all of your black and white images into color after I have already put in all the editing time (nor do I want you to do it). So please tell me now if you think this will be an issue for you later.
Okay that’s enough about you, is there anything you want to know about me?
